Hi, my name is Danijela and I am doing a project to help fundraise for Children Villages. My first project was the leukemia and lymphoma Cancer society with St.Judes Childrens Hospital; I have a passion for helping people and I was going to continue and make it a yearly tradition.

While researching this year, I remembered a book I read in 5th grade. The story of a boy who had to flee his home country, Côte D'Ivoire, in a search of a better life, leaving his dad behind. The book talks about his treacherous journey to France because he didn't have documentation. That made me think about how that is the current situation of so many kids around the globe. Because of that fact I couldn't pick just one country to donate to, to me that would be neglecting all the other people who are suffering through this. Therefore, I am supporting SOS Children Villages. They are the world's largest nongovernmental organization and have been for over 70 years. They have been a big part of many people's lives in 134 locations globally. SOS villages not only provide shelter but a loving home and an education to orphaned or vulnerable children. This environment allows the children to grow and be successful and independent. Donations go to the organization as a whole and they distribute the money to the locations where it is needed the most.
